Theosis — Terms of Service

Theosis is a Christian/Bible app offering AI-assisted answers, daily devotionals, Bible reading and study, trivia, and a community prayer board.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the digital consent age in your country) to use the App. If you are a minor, you must have a parent or guardian's permission.

The App uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, devotionals, and other content. This content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not reflect your tradition's teaching. It is provided for informational and devotional purposes only and is not professional, theological, legal, or mental-health advice, and is not a substitute for your pastor, clergy, or a qualified professional. Always verify important matters with Scripture and a trusted advisor.

If you are in crisis or experiencing a mental-health emergency, contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately. The App is not a crisis or counseling service.

• Theosis+ is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store. Current pricing (e.g., a 7-day free trial, then $2.99/month) is shown in the App and may change.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel anytime in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Purchases are handled by Apple and subject to Apple's terms; refunds are governed by Apple's policies.

• You are responsible for content you submit, including prayer requests and messages ("User Content"). You retain ownership but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it within the App.
• Prayer Board posts may be publicly visible to other users.
• You agree not to post content that is harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, spam, impersonating, or that violates others' rights.
• We may moderate, remove, or restrict User Content at our discretion, but we are not obligated to monitor User Content.

You agree not to misuse the App, including by reverse-engineering it, attempting to extract our API keys or data, overloading our systems, scraping, or using it to violate any law.

The App and its original content (and licensed Bible text) are owned by Theosis and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

The App relies on third parties (including Apple, OpenAI, Supabase, PostHog, and bible-api.com). We are not responsible for their services, and your use may be subject to their terms.

The App is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Theosis will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the App. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your User Content or your violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete it at any time.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance and is not responsible for any product claims, warranty, or third-party intellectual-property claims relating to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. You represent that you are not located in a US-embargoed country or on a US prohibited-parties list.

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
